Two Distinct Rooms, One Unforgettable Destination

The Venue CU sits at the resurging east end of downtown Champaign and houses two individually bookable spaces inside a single historically restored building. The Varsity Ballroom and the Main Street Lounge each bring their own character to the table, and together they make up one of the most versatile multi-room venue layouts in Central Illinois. Both rooms feature original architectural details, from hand-laid 1898 tiles to 1906 tin ceilings, giving every event a sense of place that a generic event space simply cannot offer.

The Varsity Ballroom

The Varsity Ballroom blends historic charm with modern versatility, accommodating up to 250 seated guests or 400 theater style. Restored brick, original 1906 tin ceilings, and premium audio create an exceptional setting for unforgettable events.

The Bridal Suite

Welcome to your home base for the day. Our bridal suite is the perfect space for you and your bridesmaids to relax, get ready, and celebrate the start of your special day! Use the mirrors and countertop to do hair and makeup in the morning, take pictures in front of the beautiful windows with amazing natural light, relax on the couch while you sip mimosas, and enjoy having your own private bathroom. Head downtown and grab some lunch or have food delivered to you. Whatever your plans for the day, the bridal suite is your new home.

The Main Street Lounge

The Main Street Lounge welcomes up to 100 guests in a warm, historic setting featuring a restored 1930s bar and recreated 1898 tilework. Perfect for cocktail hours, rehearsal dinners, private parties, or intimate celebrations with timeless charm.

The Flats: On-Site Luxury Accommodations

The Flats at The Venue CU are six lift-style rental units located on -site, configured as four two-bedroom units and two one-bedroom units. Bookings are managed through Lodgify, and the units are steps down from downtown Champaign dining, entertainment, and the Hyatt hotel.

The Groom's Room

Here at The Venue CU, we want the groom and his groomsmen to feel special too!
